Vodafone Network Closed Down In India Or Not

Is Vodafone Closed in India? We can’t “Yes” but at the same time can’t say “No”. Vodafone is the second topmost telecommunication network in India after Airtel. Nearly 300 million people around the world are using Vodafone Network. Okay, let’s see why Vodafone gets shut down in India. We know after the arrival of Reliance Jio, all other telecommunication networks like Airtel, Vodafone, and Idea are facing heavy losses in the telecommunication field. Ambani is the first person who launched 4G in overall India. After the arrival of the Jio network, other telecommunications like Airtel and Vodafone have changed their recharge plans also. But still, Jio is in first place in the telecommunication network in India. But this is not the main reason for the Vodafone shutdown. We will see it in detail.

India Telecommunication Rules:

According to the telecommunication rules, mobile phone service providers like Airtel, Vodafone, and others have to pay usage fees in proportion to the amount of spectrum allocated to them. You may hear about the spectrum scandal which was done by Kalanithimaran in Tamilnadu. So, they must pay their usage fees properly. Recently the government announced that the telecommunication providers need to add the revenue of the mobile phone and the telecommunication service to the account of A.G.R. Accordingly, Airtel, Vodafone Idea, and other telecommunication companies have to pay the dues of Rs. 92,000 Crores and the Spectrum charge Rs. 41,000 Crores so totally they have to pay Rs. 1.33 lakhs crores.

Vodafone Idea (India) has suffered huge losses:

Our Indian Government, asks all the telecommunication networks must be settled their dues within a week. Vodafone Idea has suffered huge losses this year because of Jio. They announced a loss of Rs. 50,000 Crores in the second quarter of this current year. So, Vodafone Idea requests some time to settle the dues. Also, they told me that if the government pushes overly to settle the dues, we are ready to shut down the Vodafone Idea in India. This is shocking news for Vodafone Idea users in India.
Like Vodafone, Bharti Airtel also reported a net loss of Rs. 23,000 crores in the second quarter of this current year. Also, Airtel Company told that “we are facing a severe crisis due to the supreme court’s decisions. And the Supreme Court ordered the telecommunication networks must settle their dues before January 20, 2020. But no one settles it. After that, the petition came to trial under the justice Arun Mishra. At that time, judges ordered telecommunication companies to pay the dues by March 17, 2020. So, Bharti Airtel told that they will pay Rs.10,000 Crores by Feb 20, 2020, and the remaining amount by March 17, 2020.
Earlier in the session, headed by Justice Arun Mishra, Lawyer Mukul Rohatgi appeared in the court on behalf of Vodafone Idea.  And he demanded that Vodafone will pay Rs. 2500 crores today and Rs. 1000 Crores next Friday. But his request was refused by the Supreme Court and it is reported that they need to pay in full.

Vodafone senior consultant Mr. Mukul Rohatgi gives an interview:

In this stage, the Vodafone senior consultant Mr. Mukul Rohatgi gives an interview to NDTV. In this interview, he reported that Vodafone faces a loss of over Rs. 2 Lakhs crore in the last 10 years alone. And he said that if the government or Supreme Court is pushing to pay this amount overnight, we will surely close down the Vodafone in India. The senior Consultant of Vodafone also told that if Vodafone Idea were to shut down in India, a total of 10,000 people all over the world will lose their jobs and nearly 30 crore users would face lots of difficulties.

Even if Vodafone closed down in India, its services are not going to shut down immediately. The whole process will take some time. In case of any change, something like Vodafone exit from India, the Vodafone customers are possible to move to some other service automatically or their services will continue in the same way with a new fresh owner.
A big worry is if Vodafone Idea leaves India, and its place is not taken by other companies or new owners, there are players only in this market field, Jio, and Airtel. Both of them will struggle and try to get the first place in the telecommunication network. Also, they will launch lots of recharge plans to cover the customers in the future.

Conclusion:

Well, one side of the rumor said Vodafone will leave India. But another side said that Vodafone won’t leave India.”.We don’t know which one is true”. We all know that Vodafone is the best telecommunication network and it will support all over the world. So, let’s see what will happen in the future.
